Transportation Supervisor Dispatcher - Houston, TX

The Grocers Supply Company, Inc. one of Houston’s largest Wholesale Grocery Distributor has an immediate opening for a Transportation Supervisor Dispatcher position in the Houston Area. The Transportation Supervisor Dispatcher manages the distribution of tractors, trailers and equipment. Ensure Dispatchers are available at all times to answer any questions from the drivers.

Essential Job Functions:

• Supervise staff, monitor performance and resolve disciplinary issues as needed.
• Responsible for daily dispatch operation of backhauls, internal moves and outbound loads.
• Ensure DOT rules and regulations are followed.
• Ensure on time deliveries
• Audits loads delivered on time, drivers logs and driver trip sheets.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED
• Knowledge of DOT
• Previous experience dispatching 75 plus drivers per shift.
• Excellent customer service skills, detailed oriented and highly organized individual.
• Must have good interpersonal communication skills, conflict resolution and employment relation skills.
• Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Ability to make decisions with little or no guidance.
